Any trick for showing Video Device hardware?

In DVDA 4.5 I'm not seeing any Video Devices in the Preferences for external display. I have a 1394 Canopus box which shows up fine in VP8.

Is there something I'm missing? Or what would cause the Video Device tab to only have the device of (none).

I'm running Windows Vista.
