Use FX media plugin, choose "light noise redux." that should do the trick

That can work but... SoFo admits that the median plug-in is the s l o w e s t of any filter and they weren't kidding. I used it once on a small project of about 10 minutes. It took over 30 hours to render. You may want to see if one of the other blurs works first.

Go to the affected clips, right click, Properties, Reduce Interlace Flicker. Usually works.

Also, Gaussian Blur, set to .0001 and 0001 works.

Don't recommend a global approach (Trackwise) as it takes forever to render.

is this 'boxy " from zooming in on clip ??

for a very light noise reduction ..use the gaussian FX .. set it at around 0.010 (max) on both vertical and horizontal .. use ONLY on BLUE channel ( uncheck the others)

Can you provide more specifics on WHY you would only want to apply the blur to the blue channel?

It would seem to me that since all channels are combined once rendered, and the amount of bluring is so small wouldn't the unblured red/green channel mask any correction?

I don't know if it was you or someone else that mentioned this sometime back, I tried it then and didn't see any change on the few samples I tired. Maybe I didn't do it right. Just curious.

i found adding slight blur to BLUE channel reduces backgound noise slightly and doesn't have much affect on sharpness ( works better with clips that are under exposed or used GAIN) .. found the GREEN channel difficult to blur as it would affect color balance and cause edge fringing - same with RED ...

also sometimes when i'm KEYING and having difficult with edges i'll then blur the blue channel and will get better key on edges ...

i find it much easier to see the difference on a NTSC monitor vs. computer monitor. this is not a night-day difference in noise - it is a slightly less noise.

Wcoxel:
How do you get .0001? do you mean .001?
Thanks.
