Any way to have multiple projects open?

Let's say I have a default credits scroll file that includes stuff like the actors, date created, and applications used for the video.

What I'm currently doing is editing my credit file, rendering it, and then importing it as media at the end of my video.

Is there any way I can bring this project file into the video I'm making and edit the credit information?

Not sure if I explained what I want to do well, but hope you understand what I mean.

You can only have one project open at a time in VMS, but you can have two or more copies of VMS running at the same time.

Open your movie project in VMS, then start a second instance of VMS and this time load your credits project. Select everything in your credits project, right-click, and select "copy", then change over to your movie project and past it where you want.

Obviously, this is now a new copy of your credits (in your movie file), so any changes to the credits you make in the movie project won't be applied to the separate credits project.

The full version of Vegas lets you nest projects. Somehow you reference the other project on your timeline, and the other project is then magically pulled into the new project.

With the full version there are a couple of ways to do this. One is with nested timelines. I'm pretty sure the Studio version doesn't do that, so we'll skip over it.

Before nested timelines the usual method was to open two instances of Vegas, each with a different project. You could then copy from one and paste to the other. If the Studio version allows that then you should be all set. It wouldn't hurt to try it.

Another easy way to do this would be to let this be a default "starter" file that you open up whenever you begin a new project.

You would open this project file in VMS, then add the videos that you will be editing and go to town! Make sure to "Save As" to a different filename to avoid overwriting the original credits file.

Great ideas guys, glad you understood what I was trying to say.

I'll try the "multiple copies of SVMS running", see how that works, but I'm thinking that having a "starter" file that has some default titles and credits would be pretty cool.

Again, thanks for the good ideas!
