Any workarounds for 64 bit

My old pc went out some weeks ago and after shopping around I ended up with a 64 Bit. To my disappointment Version 10 would not work. It installed fine and recognized my camcorder. I thought everything was going to be alright but after an hour of downloading from camcorder it had dropped 66 frames and no sound. I missed out on the upgrade special so I was wondering if anyone knew of a work around. Its a shame that version 10 is not compatible with 64 Bit, kind of a rip off as far as Im concerned.

There are several threads dealing with rendering crashes with 64-bit systems and solutions, do a search. However, I don't think they have anything to do with dropped frames. You probably have a different issue altogether.

What type cam, how are you capturing?

Thanks MSmart. I have a Panasonic PV-GS320. I had no troubles with old computer running XP. I have a Dell Studio XPS 7100 now, there is no port for FireWire so I am using usb cable. As I said when I plugged in cam it was recognized and it was playing the video and sound fine in the preview window but when I came back after it had captured it said 66 frames dropped. It said it had captured one file so when I double clicked to open it in trimmer, it immediately put it in time line and I had no trimmer station. I went to View and checked trimmer station but I never could get it to open in it. The one file looked like the whole move but it was chopped up, some of it was even in the audio time line.

Capturing via USB is your problem. You need to get a firewire card, they're cheap.
