Jay, Vic, Patrick?
I was thinking of heading over to the KSC area to shoot the shuttle luanch with my FX1 next month. I know all the tickets are sold out for the visitors center, but wondering if anybody can recc good vantage points from the side of the interstate etc.
Just thought it would be some cool footage to have in HDV. I know since 9/11 they dont allow you an alot of the property anymore,, but I thought Id drive over when they finalize the launch date.

If you're going to all that trouble, I'd definitely suggest a 2x (or more) tele- extender - they're not too expensive or you might be able to rent one, as well.

To the best of my recollection, the Interstate is a fair piece away (15-20 miles?) from the launch site. So much so it would be too far away, even with a tele-extender. You'd need to get as close as possible, then it still might not be close enough.

Not quite, but I did film the shuttle "Enterprise" on VHS when it came to the UK in the 80's
