I don't think you're going to get many volunteers to decypher read errors and related stack dumps. If it was Vegas Video you probably would see a lot of people having similar problems. Vegas is very stable. Could be Windows or any other application you had running at the time. Crashes where two applicatons try to access the same memory space at the same time happen a lot. If it happens over and over then time to worry. If not, and this is the first time you've seen it, probably just one of those things.

Also, it would be nice to know what you were doing at the time <g>. For example, there is a known issue with some video cards drivers, which gets triggered when you're in the Text Generator. The solution is to turn off that particular hardware acceleration feature until they fix the driver. Without knowing what feature you were using, it's more difficult to classify the problem.

Thanks guys, I decided to reinstall vegas. I haven't played with it much but haven't seen those "exceptions" the first few times running the program. The problem happened when I double-clicked newly captured media in the pool to the timeline-Vegas would just shutdown when I tried to play the clip. It's funny that Vegas for me was very stable up until this point. If I get anymore info I will post it.

SonicDennis:

I have had several problems under windows 2000 in the text generator. I press one of the property tabs and WHAM!! my system does a hard reboot. Is this the same problem you are talking about and if so, can you go into detail on what needs to be done to correct it.

Thanks!
