Anybody using new SONY DRU500A DVD-+R/RW yet?

I have the new Sony DVD burner (SONY DRU500A) on order from Dell, but haven't received it. Just wanted to know if anyone's used one of these yet and if there are any noted problems with DVD burning, media (disc brand) preferences, etc.
I know I should have been a "good" consumer and waited for other people to take the plung first with a new piece of hardware, but hey, I thought it was my turn to be a PIONEER (pun intended).

Pheh! Good consumers -- truly good ones -- live on the bleeding edge! They max out their credit cards and bank accounts! They beg, borrow...anything but steal!

Let me know how it is though -- I'm waiting patiently for burning speeds to get up to a respectable number before taking the plunge...
