Anyone else getting this metronome bug?

Set the project tempo to 240 BPM.

Press play and turn the metronome on...The metronome plays back at the correct tempo...

Save the project and close Vegas.

Relaunch Vegas, load the project and press play.

While the project tempo says it is 240 the metronome is playing back at 120 (the default tempo).

Yes - had metronome in V4 playing back at wrong tempo, just the other day. Happens a lot, but thought I was going mad. Definitely a bug.

Just out of curiousity, are the metronome tempo changes always accurate subdivisons as in the 240 -> 120 example?

Nup, the metronome seems to be reverting to the default tempo no matter what the actual project tempo.

You may already be aware of this workaround, but I have found that if I open Options --> Preferences and make a change (and then change it back) then click Apply, the metronome behaves accordint to project properties again.

The goal is to just get the Apply button to become active so you can click it, you don't actually have to change anything permanently.

Well - aware of the problem and searching for a workaround I have to admit that doesn't work for me.. it seems to be a random number of tries and resetting the bpm and occasionally closing & re-opening before it actually works.

Has this problem been acknowledged by Sony?

If it hasn't been acknowledged, and it certainly hasn't been fixed, I really wonder what the Sony programmers are doing all day. It's a dying concept I know, but I would have thought it wise to fix current broken 'features' before looking at adding new ones...

I and others have posted about the metronome bug countless times, since Vegas 4 was released. Insane.

yeah the metronome bug is pretty insane.???

It's been annoying me pretty much forever. I assumed it was known, acknowledged and would be fixed pronto, but it seems to have not been addressed yet, for some reason or not.

Anyone logged a formal bug report?
Geoff_Wood wrote on 10/26/2004, 3:23 PM
I think I did about 6 months ago, but maybe not.

I certainly reported this bug back in August of 2003 ...

I've reported some specific sync and drift issues both with Acid and Vegas.
Vegas - The Big Gamble wrote on 10/28/2004, 8:37 PM
Just to confirm - this is the metronome playing at a different speed from the timeline ruler and bpm setting.. I called Sony today and they mentioned about tempo resetting to "default project setting" and I explained that this was not related to that nor to sync....

On loading a project the metronome plays the previous speed - so totally out of time with the measures & beats grid and the current setting
