They just started shipping this past week, I think B&H only got 100 of them. I know the first shipment was small, and the bigger bulk are expected later this week. Oddly enough (if it's true) I've been told that with all the ships that had to be rerouted due to Katrina/Gulf area, the ports are running slow.

That sounds like a bit of a fib to me, I seriously doubt such things are sent by sea. Deliveries down here are also running a tad behind schedule.
Bob.

I do know that Sony Electronics gets a lot of their gear by sea. You can see the trucks going in and out of San Diego and Jersey with the large ship containers on them. I've seen them in both places. Seems like "K-Line" carries a lot of their stuff in San Diego.
I also know B&H, Adorama, Shoreview got at least a few dozen each of these. They're out...just not enough of them.

They have them in NY at http://www.thecamerabox.com/product.asp?id=sovhrva1&l=Froogle for $2599.00 and they claim theirs is in stock. I have not done business with them, so I do not know about thier business practices.

Spot, do I remember correctly that you tried out a preproduction model? From what you know, are there any differences between the one you reviewed and the one that is out on the market? Also, did you find out if it uses digital stabilization or optical?
Thanks
