Hi Ed,

You might try the "reduce interlace flicker" filter to soften the aliasing of lines.

(Render to "Best" quality)

For more (hopefully helpful) tips on stills you can check-out the "Stills and Aspect" tutorial the the link below.

P.S. Are you previewing on external monitor? Might look better there...

Right now I am only previewing with Windows media player and it is the one that is adding the lines. It seems that when I preview it in the little box in Vegas that the lines are not there... sometimes they are and sometimes not. I have not tried the reduce interlace flicker yet but I will. But your saying it might not appear in the actual video once it goes to VHS or DVD?

Hey thanks so much for your help!

Have a good one!

Hummm that is not working. I tired to reduce interlace flicker. The box is checked and I am sure I am rendering in Best quality. Any ideas?

thanks

Yep. DV is interlaced, WMP does not de-interlace. If you are destined for video, you might try keeping interlaced and view on an NTSC monitor.

Wow thanks so much martyh! I am not so sure I understand it, words like HTH, MPH and WMP, these are all new terms to me... but I am excited to try it on an external monitor. I don't have one yet but plan on getting one soon. I was not going to upgrade to 4.0 because of this problem but now I am going to! Of course I am trusting your word but you sure seem like a trust worthy person. I will do it.

Thanks Martyh!

Very excit-ED
