Anyone maybe have a clue?

A while back I posted a topic on why my VP13 was taking way more time to render a project compared to the same project rendered in VP12. VP13 was rendering about 30% slower.
So I had a fresh machine and I installed VP12 and VP13. So I rendered the same project in VP13 first, and this time it rendered about 30% faster compared to the render in VP12 on the other machine. I repeated the render with the same fast render, many times. Fantastic !!!
So, just for kicks and giggles, I opened VP12 for the first time on this new pc, and rendered the same project with VP12. Well, heck, I should never have rendered in VP12 on the new machine. I got the same render time with VP12 as the other pc, okay that's acceptable...... but it appears to have affected VP13 now, because my render times in VP13 are now back to a crawl, the same way it was with the older pc.
How could rendering in VP12 slow down the renders in VP13. Rendering in VP13 on the new build was blazing fast, until I rendered for the first time in VP12.
I hope I was clear in my writing, I know it may sound confusing.....

thanks for reading......

Did you:

1. Install 13
2. Install 12
3. Render in 13
4. Render in 12

Or was your first 13 render before you installed 12?

What format are your source files? What template are you rendering to? Does this happen with all formats?

Thanks for replying....
I installed V12 first, but rendered first in V13.
Source files are hdv, rendering to MCmpg template.
Have only rendered to that format presently, as that is what I usually use.

thanks,
robert

Try resetting 13, by holding Control and Shift while clicking on the Vegas icon. Vegas will ask you to confirm. See if that speeds 13 up. Note: this will change all your preferences.

Hi dxdy.......

Resetting did speed it up, but it turned GPU rendering back on, and I would use that if the quality stayed the same as with it turned off.

thanks,
robert
