Anyone Use AlamDv2 software with either VV3 or VV4?

Hi all,

Does anyone Use AlamDv2 software with either VV3 or VV4? I love what I can do with it, but have been have a lot of trouble getting video files to transfer into the Alamdv2 program to add effects to it.

When I transfer video it either comes up as multi-colored squares, or does not come up at all.

Any suggestions?

Emmo

I tried this about a year ago...think I had to use uncompressed video.

I've got Alamdv and to remember correctly you have to render your files as a quicktime movie for the program to recognise it.It can't cope with AVI format for some reason.Hope this helps.

Yep, this is because Vegas captures in OpenDML (AVI version 2.0) compatible file format and I’ve found that lots of programs cannot handle this. What you need to do is render the section you want to use in AlamDV as either uncompressed (which is your best option if you are saving the effects with the AVI) or render as DV AVI but go into the Options and on the Video tab UNCHECK the option at the bottom that’s labeled: Create an OpenDML (AVI version 2.0) compatible file. What I did was create a new template with this option unchecked for when I know I want to export to a special effects program. This is why rendering to Quicktime (MOV) also works. I have this tip on my website.
