Question here about After Effects and Vegas interoperability. No one at creative cow seems able to answer this one. Just FYI, I got all my video info from the Gspot program.
I have 16x9 1.2 par SD footage that I shot with my HDR-FX1. This problem happens with either footage that I have exported from Vegas as NTSC DV Widescreen (which Gspot tells me is still 16x9 and pixel aspect ratio 1.2) or even footage just straight from the cam.
I bring this into AE and create a composition with NTSC DV widescreen 720x480 with a par of 1.2. I then interpret my footage as widescreen 1.2, and drag it to my timeline. I check the little box at the bottom of the preview window that toggles pixel aspect ratio correction. Everything works great and I get everything done just perfect.
Then I go to render. No matter what I seem to do, I can not get 16x9 footage with a 1.2 par out of After Effects. I have incessantly messed with the render queue settings and no matter what, every file is tall and skinny. Gspot tells me pixel aspect ratio of 1 EVERY time. I want to just simply export a damn little 16x9 file. Is that too much to ask? Please help me here! I am dying over here .
If this kind of stubborness is why everyone bitches about Adobe video products, I am definitely not impressed. But then again, I may just be blind.
Thanks so much and you are, ahead of time, my hero.
