Anyone using Boris FX 7 in Vegas?

I'm finding Boris FX 7 to be buggy and unstable. Vegas has crashed on me 3 times when using Boris FX as a plug in, it never did this before? Compared to Commotion Pro4.1 and After Effects 5.5 this program is not impressive.

The idea of having a compositing, special FX program as a plug in in Vegas was so appealing I purchased Boris FX 7. What I'm finding with Boris FX is a complicated (maybe I'm just use to the Commotion, AE layout and design), buggy program that makes my editing life a lot more work. Anyone using it successfully? Just not happening for me at this point. Could be user error that's why I'm asking. If you are using Boris FX 7 do you have any experience with Commotion Pro 4.1 of After Effects 5.5 or 6? Thanks
Dave

I used the FX 7 demo for a few weeks (3) with minimal problems (1 or 2 crashes) and received my real copy yesterday.

I also have Graffiti which gave me a number of problems initially but now seems to have settled down. I believe a lot of it was user error which has been corrected.

I do find both programs to be quite intimidating - interface and commands not intuitive for a new user. There was a point however after muddling through enough times that things actually started to make sense in Graffiti, FX 7 seems to be a logical addition with many similarities.

One big issue was that my interface looked nothing like the instruction manual. Once I determined that the appropriate windows were not turned on and placed in the proper place things started going well. I guess I am spoiled by Vegas and its ease of use.

Good Luck

Dave,

I am using Boris Graffiti and I have had pretty good luck with it, in respect to it not crashing. In my experience I only have had one project not render completely due to a Graffiti clip.

Graffiti is also a challenge in respect to its interface, of course that is what I get for not reading the manual completely.
