The AG-DV2000 is a great deck; ruggedly built to last. Works great with VV3; the only caveat is that its audio level is very hot. A 0db coming out of Vegas severly overdrives the 2000. When printing to tape, you have to crank the gain way down with Vegas gain control.

I've been trying to get my new DV2000 to work with Vegas. I am not sure where the problem lies. deef has been especially helpful to me as I try to figure out the source of my problems. The problems I am having are during capture and output. I am not sure yet, but I think it might be the FireWire card I purchased (SIIG) and not the deck. The deck works great with the DV Raptor I have in the same system, so I think it's something with the SIIG card.

Last week I tried to put the card in a different slot and it royally hosed my computer. It was also just a day after putting my new DVD+RW drive in the system, but it seemed perfectly stable after that and I was even able to burn a disc with no problem, so I don't think that's where the problem is.

I'll be trying the deck again tomorrow and will report on what I find.
