Aperture Priority Mode on the FX1/Z1

My most usual technique for setting exposure on the FX1/Z1 has been to let the camera first set "its" auto settings and then to fine tune the Iris, however I have read a lot about this camera working best at F4.0 Save for when a specific DOF is not compatible with F4 is required, who recommends initially using the camera in F4 aperture priority mode and fine-tuning exposure with the shutter?

If you're working in reasonable light, this seems to be the sweet spot of the camera, rather than slightly smaller on many others. You'll find a lot of posts on this around the web, and lotsa shooters out there have found this to be true, particularly those looking for a highly saturated or "film noir" look. Don't push the color too much at this aperture, and maybe push the sharpening just a tiny bit more than you normally might. (around +11/12)

One article I saw last year showed that any 1/3" CCD-chip camera can't show 1080-line resolution if the lens is stopped down more than f4. I'll try to find the post I did back then on this subject.

EDIT: Here it is.
