Apply mask to only one FX

Hi,

for removing stuck pixels I use a mask around the pixel on that specific event, chose "apply to FX" and add a Gaussian blur event FX. That works pretty amazing.

But I want to do at least some color correction on event level so I would have to add other FXs. Is there a way that those affect the whole image and not only the mask?

Or is there another workflow to avoid keyframes in a track-based FX for CC? Maybe something with parent/child tracks and empty events (only with FX applied to those)? Is that possible?

Because it's a long project with several cameras an easy way would be appreciated. ;-)

You can apply your color correction in the Media Pool.

But then it would be media-based, wouldn't it? Is there any advantage over the track FX that i also want to avoid? I need something that is like an event FX.

Yeah, but it would not affect any other effx you have the timeline. If Cam A requires the same color correction, you only apply it once in media, on event level you have to apply it to each event. On track level, each camera has to have its own track.

Sadly not what I'm looking for...

1.You can apply other effects at the track level (will affect all events on the track)

2. You can also create a subclip the event and apply effects like Media FX. (will only affect the event subclip and the original media will be preserved). I think this is the option you need

Thanks alot!

2. seems to be working fine for me. If I encounter another problem with this workflow, I will ask again.

(You create the subclip only to avoid that the FX affects the whole (original) media, right? Is there a way to switch back to the original event, like with takes?)

te the subclip only to avoid that the FX affects the whole (original) media, right?

Yes.

Is there a way to switch back to the original event, like with takes?)

1.Select the event and press the right mouse button / go to Take and choose the desired Take.

2. Or simply select the event and press the "T key" to toggle between the Takes.

Thanks again!

I oversaw the indicating "(2/2)".
