Architect optimization

I recently upgraded to 4.0 with DVD architect. I am impressed so far, however, when I burned my first DVD it recompressed it. Since it was already in AVI format, I wasn't real thrilled about having to wait 3 hours for something I already rendered. I tried to change to options but the 'recompress video' box was grayed and checked. Anyone know what I need to change, or is this just something I'm going to have to live with? Thanks

DVD's can only use MPEG-II video, so DVD Architect takes whatever you give it, and if it isn't already MPEG-II video, DVD Architect will convert it to MPEG-II for you.

What you probably want to do is render your videos out of V4 as MPEG-II using the DVD Architect NTSC Video Only template. DVD Architect won't have to convert this. You will also have to render your audio separately as either uncompress .wav or AC-3.

Thanks for your help. Another question, if I render my video and audio together as MPEG II, will Architect recompress both or just turn the audio into wav and leave the video as is? Thanks again

If you use Satish new plugpac you do not need to render out to AVI any more.

I downloaded the script. When I tried to run it I got an error "error on line 1 expected expression". Do I need to modify the script to make it work?

As it stands today, you render your video with the DVD Architect MPEG-2 template, and your audio with the AC-3 stereo or surround template. When you open the video in DVD Architect, it will pick up the audio automatically if it has the same base name.
