Archiving Media Pool information

From another reply, the archived content can be recaptured; however, that process would appear to require some (if not all) of the information (especially timecode start/stop) displayed in the Media Pool. Where is that information stored (other than in the .avi file)? And how can it be archived along with the MiniDV tapes?

Or is there some other way to archive the supplemental data needed to reconstruct the avi files that various projects were based on?

This information should be saved in the .sfvidcap file that VidCap creates. You should probably SaveAs this file into whatever project directory you are using for all the other files. Back up this file along with the .veg file and any other non-DV media.

Most of the information is added to the *.avi files by VidCap at the end of the capture process when it shows 'logging'. The captured clips are about 50kB larger compared to those that have been captured by ScLive to hold this information.

Thanks! That information is very much appreciated and is exactly what I was looking for.

In my case, the file was My Documents/Default.sfvidcap. Since the file does not contain an ascii string corresponding to the clip names, Windows Explorer didn't find it during a search. (The filename characters do exist in the file; however, they alternate with null bytes.)
