Archiving projects

I've begun to accumulate many completed projects, burned to both DVD and BD. I'm wondering how people archive completed work....an external large HDD is an obvious choice (2TB drives now well under $150). Or if you have burned discs, and if you need to make copies, is there a reliable utility to use to copy them?

If it is important stuff to me, I will save two copies for redundancy -- ISO on a hard drive and a burned dvd is not such a bad way to go. Many free ways to burn a duplicate from another dvd or an image.

NewEgg.com has them for almost half that.

I always burn a few extra DVDs of each project for those last minute "we need one more" clients. For archive, I just dedicate a new 1Tb drive (about $60 at Micro Center) to the project and drop it into an external USB-SATA docking station. Never had a problem with this setup. When the project is finished, I clean up the files on the disk and put it on the shelf.

About once a year, I go back to the archived projects and consolidate them to a larger hard disk.
