Are Chapter Points added in DVD-A embedded?

So far I've only burned projectes where I added chapter points in DVD-A directly and have not embedded any in Vegas before rendering. While chapter points are remembered in DVD-A's project file, they don't seem to be embedded in the finished video.

If not, and you want to revise the project at a future date it would seem you would have to keep all the source files, plus the DVD-A project file in their ORIGINAL folders or you're back to square one again. I hope not. Since this would mean keeping BOTH your source files AND finished files or hoping the DVD itself doesn't go bad.

Can somone confirm this?

Also, can DVD-A open a DVD that it burned and modify it, which several low priced DVD Authoring projects already do.

If you put markers on the timeline in Vegas where you want the chapter points, DVDA will see those markers and use them as chapter points. However, the marker information is stored in a separate file. So... if you move the rendered MPG file, you also need to move the "marker" file.

I assume you mean adjusting menus and such in DVDA. Yes, you would need to keep the original MPG file to keep the highest quality. If you mean the contents of the project, I would keep the original DV file (stored on TAPE - not hard drive).
