Quicktime movie, video type animation set to millions of colors+ retains an alpha channel

I usually generate these in Boris RED so I am not sure if the settings are the same in Vegas

You will have to set the alpha channel in Vegas by right clicking and selecting straight alpha

Another option is to use a blue/green solid colour instead of transparency and then chroma key this out. This will allow you to use other codecs to compress the output
