Most DirectX plug-ins will work, but ... and it's a big BUT ...
unless things have recently changed, they must be specifically
written to work with individual tracks, otherwise you will have to
use them as an "assignable Fx" on a bus. You can follow a thread on
this forum called "DirectX? in TrackFX?" to get a better idea of how
that works.

Good news is that there are folks on newsgroups using the Waves
Native Power Packs, TC/Works and others with Vegas to good effect.
Most of these plug-ins have demos that you can load up and try out
for free to see if they work for you.

Be sure to search out the post by Matt Logan with the above title for
a good explanation of how to use the "assignable fx" method for
individual tracks.
