Also, if you like this sort of thing, check out a very similar site: PushPinMap.com which includes a few more features. PushPinMap.com is open to the entire world, not just SONY media software users. Please feel free to share this link with everyone you know. It would be fun to see different large parts of the globe light up with blue each day as people's birthdays come up. Thanks y'all!

Curious. How did my name pop up, as soon as I started writing it, yet not my E-mail? Or any other info?
Chienworks wrote on 10/1/2004, 12:20 PM
Depending on the browser you use and the preferences you have set, the browser may be automatically filling in form fields. I call the name field "name" and this is probably what just about everyone else in the world names that field too. I may be using a different name for email from what others do.

Strange though since most browsers will only remember form data on specific sites and won't carry fields over to forms on other sites. Maybe you have some sort of additional "form filling" help software installed.

I'm afraid I'm still too new to computers to understand. I was using Mozilla's 'Foxfire' as my browser, which I only started using recently. I've never seen that happen before, except when I've registered somewhere previously. I assumed it was somehow 'Sony' that was transfering the information. Just a little scary when you don't expect it.

I had problems filling in the form. After I clicked on the button to submit the information I received one of those big ol' error messages. It appeared that the first submit was not successful.

So, I tried again. Happily, I succeeded this time! :)

I then went on to see my happy little dot with my information.

It shows me down for THREE times. Apparently the first "submit" was successful afterall. AND apparently I submitted my "dot" to this particular website a long time ago. (Which I don't remember, of course.)

Oh well. . .

Kelly, can you change my name to Mario from MyST on the stats? You can leave the Forum ID as MyST.
Thanks much.

Kelly,

I can't find your e-mail. Can you change my website from www.thevideomaker.com to www.videobackstage.com (it's in several places--the map, the forum, the list of users, etc.). Too close to the magazine, they were very gracious about it, and I changed my site name.

I can do it myself if you post how.

Thanks in advance.

Ted

Oops. I accidently bumped this.
bowman01 wrote on 10/9/2004, 5:37 PM
It's not sony, its actually your browser. It may even be an autofill function of a toolbar eg. google. More than likely though you have an autofill or complete set up for forms set up in your browser.
B.Verlik wrote on 10/9/2004, 7:26 PM
I didn't bump this looking to get answers about the 'auto fill in' question. I bumped it so more people could join. But thanks anyway.
