ARRRRGGGHHH! In and Out Points Ignored

Another DVDA frustration.

I'm making a single movie DVD from m2v and wav files. I add the files and go to the timeline and set in and out points for the file to eliminate the black at the beginning and the vhs noise at the end.

I burn the DVD.

The in and out points are ignored, and the entire video file is burned.

I've retried it 3 times without success - any ideas? Am I missing something obvious?

Thanks.

DVDA always burns the entire file. However, it should start/stop playing at those points. If you want to eliminate burning that part of the video to the disc then you have to render a copy that doesn't include them.

Yeah, thanks Kelly.

I realized that in the middle of the night after I posted. Funny how things come to you at 3AM and wake you up!

What I was doing was recording direct to the hard drive in mpg format from the vhs machine - using my Canopus Storm MPG capture - wanting to bypass first going to DV, thus saving a compression artifact layer.

I forgot and thought I could get by with "editing" the file in DVDA and just plain forgot that the in and out points were merely pointers.

I've got some other ideas on handling it better now. I'm doing a google for Womble now. That program seems to be mentioned quite frequently on these fora.

Thanks for the response.

Please ignore the ARRRRGGGHHH! in the topic header : )
