Article: Looking at the NLE trends

I just read the article here: http://www.fcp.co/final-cut-pro/articles/1476-looking-at-the-nle-trends-on-google-which-one-gets-the-most-searches

It compares searches for 'Adobe Premiere Pro', 'Final Cut Pro', 'Avid', 'Lightworks', 'Davinci Resolve'

And, I wonder how it compares to 'Sony Vegas Pro', and doing the same search at www.google.com/trends/explore:

RESULT:

http://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=%2Fm%2F04_679%2C%20%2Fm%2F043dqq%2C%20%2Fm%2F02ccw4%2C%20Davinci%20Resolve%2C%20Avid&cmpt=q

Sony Vegas Pro has higher searches compared to other?

I suspect this sort of analysis has been confirmed over many years and it brings no surprises to the table. For example that Sony can have widespread third world coverage due to easy piracy, cost, and lack of high-standard registering key - this is totally expected.

This is a very interesting concept (using Google search results to estimate market share), but for Vegas, how do you construct a search that tracks the video editor rather than the gambling mecca?? For the past dozen years, I have run into this every time I try to search for something related to "Sony Vegas." The results are ALWAYS ambiguous, and filled with irrelevant results. If I put the terms in quotes, as I did in the last sentence, I do indeed get results that are mostly about the editing program, but I also miss a huge number of results where people don't specify Sony, or don't use that word directly next to Vegas.
