Aside From Features, Is the Pro Version "better" than Movie Studio?

I know both movie studio platinum 16 suite and Pro 16 Suite are loaded with features like crazy. I'm not asking about features, I really want to know just how the pro version is "better" to be so much more costly. Is it faster rendering times? Is it faster proxy creation? What is it? Performance? Quality? Features?

I believe both movie studio 16 platinum suite and pro 16 suite work equally well with regard to GPU acceleration with my single NVIDIA 1080. Is that correct? Please someone, tell me, speed or performance wise, why is "pro" better? All I do is 4K video editing and rendering into mp4 files on my hard drive. My primary concern is video quality of final rendered product. I have a 1 year old, very fast "Alienware" desktop, Windows 10pro, 32 GB RAM and a 1080 video card (and a motionflow 43" 4K TV as my monitor.

Also, what is a short answer to: Should I routinely use gpu acceleration with my 1080? Why? Is it faster rendering times? Is it faster proxy creation? What is it? Performance? Quality? What should I do about bit rates and passes?

OK, that was a lot of questions. I seem to have difficulty finding these answers, so I thought I'd try what I think is my first post. Thank you for reading all this.

Better not ask more than one question at the time, because otherwise you get as much answers as questions and more. And for you it becomes than very difficult to find the right answer to which question.

The Pro version has more features
- as using "nested" veggs
- more render codecs for advanced pro users who knows where and what to use
- a.s.o. what you all can find on the comparison tables of the different versions.

Yess

I have a 1 year old, very fast "Alienware" desktop,

What means "fast"?
Vegas needs for your kind of files and rendertemplate a good/fast processor and when those files are AVC/HEVC encoded the newest fastes processors.
A modern GPU ( see the specs list) can help playing in preview the most OFX effects and give some extra rendertemplates that can render faster by using that GPU a bit more.

Vegaspro has just more features/tools, performance, quality etc are exactly the same as in Vegas Movie Studio. I have VegasPro16 and also VMS16, mostly of the time (99%) I use VMS16. VMS even has some extras that VegasPro doesn't have.

Thank You. I just opted for the upgrade to MS 16 Platinum Suite. Since I first wrote my post, I read about advanced rendering options. If my ultimate goal is highest quality final rendered 4K files, in rendering options, what should I do about the number of passes... and increasing the bit-rates I see there to double what they first show? Should I also use gpu acceleration? I know where those settings are, but will using it: 1) speed-up my render, or 2) lower final movie quality?

For rendering to 4k you can use the Magix AVC, Magix HEVC or Sony XAVC 4k rendertemplates. For automatic rendering you can choose the MP4 renderoption in the renderwizard which will use the Magix AVC 4k rendertemplate..

Make some test renders and decide for yourself which render option suits you most.
