ASIO problems with RME Fireface 400

Hello,

i've experiencing many stability problems using vegas pro 12 with my ASIO soundcard (RME Fireface 400). many cracks when zooming or moving quickly on the timeline.
this looked to have a connections with my graphic card (quadro 1000M). so i put the latest nvidia drivers,(and disabled the nvidia audio drivers) and I've tried to change differents parameters (GPU acceleration on/off, nb of thread, memory allowance). nothing changed.
The nice thing is that these cracks disappear when switching back to the internal laptop souncard via microsoft sound mapper, but it is not an option, too much latency for recording, and you can't compare the sound quality of the two soundcards : I have to work with the RME.
My only option for the moment is to switch back to my old vegas Pro11-32bit version, where everything works perfectly fine.

Anyone havingg the same problems ?

Hi Papinho - I wish I didn't have to say this, but I am *glad* to hear I'm not the only one! I have exactly those problems you describe, detailed in this post:

My other audio programs work just fine. My firewaire cables and drivers are all fine. Have you found a solution?

Hi Rider
sorry, not solution yet,
but something is weird regarding your experience : i can use my fireface in ASIO with Vegas 11 !! even on big projects (50 tracks, 16 busses with 2or 3 VST each, ) no glitches "only" 2/3 vegas crashes in a week of work.
with vegas 12 on a single track with no FX, it's a blue screen if i scroll too quickly the timeline !!!
i used my fireface 400 since 2006 on several computers, and i started to experience some instability on my latest laptop (with w7-64bit) : i got crashes with ableton live with very dense projects but nothing major, i can work and use it for live performances.
i currently use the latest drivers from RME (3.070 and firmware 1.71)
I don't know wich firewire chipset is on my motherboard (some clue?) but it's working fine, except with vegas pro 12.
I've also tried my old Zoom H4N (which has ASIO in & out ) works fine with other software except vegas 12
From my point of view it's coming from the vegas 12 upgrade.
I'll try to contact the sony technical service just in case ...
