Howdy all, I'm hoping somebody out there can help me out. I've been having a problem with sync using the ASIO driver and an Echo Gina24 sound card. I've been talking with Vegas tech support but I though I'd cast my net wider, so here is my last email to tech support:
"Thanks a ton for the help but I'm not having any luck.
I did a fresh install of xp pro with all the updates and service packs and DirectX 9a. I added just the sound card (gina24) and firewire card (ads pyro) and installed just Vegas 4.0c. I'm still having the same problem, when I select ASIO Echo WDM drivers from the audio device panel, with the sync offset slider set to 12 I still am out of sync when viewing through the pyro card out to an ntsc monitor (I've tried every buffer and slider setting both in Vegas and in the Gina control panel). If I view through the Vegas computer window everything is in sync. If I change to the Microsoft Sound Mapper driver and set the slider to 7 everything is in sync on the ntsc monitor. I'm editing a show in surround sound & working on the Vegas computer window is rather inconvenient so I would love to solve this sync problem.
At this point I'm not sure what to try next. It seems like no-one else is having this problem but I'm using very standeard gear:
Windows XP pro with sp1a & all updates, Intel 845pesv mobo, P4 2.4, 1gig Crucial ram, western digital hard drives, ADS Pyro card, Echo Gina 24
Everything benchmarks great in Sisoft Sandra and aside from this problem the system seems solid. The only thing I can think of is to try another sound card but the Gina has a good reputation & I believe the Layla uses the same driver. Maybe M-audio? What are you guys using that works?
Thanks a bunch for working with me to resolve this issue"
Is anyone having this sync problem? If you have good sync with aiso driver what sound card are you using?
Thanks a ton for reading all this and any help or tips you can provide!
