Aspect Ratio

I shot some video with the camera set to widescreen mode. In Vegas I read Help and set up the 16:9 settings in Project Properties. At least I thought I did, although it didn't work so I must have done something wrong. Specifically, when I got the project burned to DVD I have bars on the top and bottom on a widescreen TV. Is there a way to get rid of the bars?

Thanks,

David

You need to set the project widescreen both within Vegas, when you render to MPEG and when you setup the project within DVDA. Did you miss any of those steps?

Hi Liam,

Good catch. I had changed the settings in Vegas but not Architect - but it didn't help.

After your note I went to Architect and selected File then Properties and changed the Project video format to: NTSC Widescreen (720x480). But I still have bars top and bottom (and people and objects are short and fat). In the help menu there are entries for 16:9 and Aspect Ratio but both bring up a page on optimizing the project rather than changing the aspect ratio. So there must still be something in Vegas or Architect that I have wrong.

I appreciate the help.
