At last, I have something that is a working VF Movie Making system

Hi All,

Thanks for all the help, especially Dee, for the advise.
After 3 days of trials and experiments, I have a hardware
configuration that works. I mean, I can do most of the
things that one wants in the creation of a better than
average home movie with huge potentials for creativity
and hopefully fiduciary incentives.

If I didn't have several computer systems to experiment,
I wouldn't have made this possible. I don't know yet,
the reason for my earlier problem on writing to tape
dropped frames but that was a major hurdle solved.

The following is the hardware configuration that worked.
1. Pentium 3, 866, 256M Ram
2. TI 1394 firewire card.
3. Generic motherboard with Intel memory chipsets.
4. 100/UDMA harddrive on ADS firewire harddrive enclosure

Thanks for letting me share the excitement.

Best regards,

Gilbert

PS...

For the price of VF (59.95 + tax),
I believe it beats hands down ULEAD, EDitDV,
Adobe Primiere and other Video Capture cards like
MIRO, Dazzle. The only caveat is like all of those
mentioned, is that you have to find the right combination
of hardware to make the Movie Editing System work....

The thing that I am struggling right now is Audio FX,
it seems to be part of the package as mentioned in
manual, but it seems it is not fully installed. I can see
there is some expressFX. The feature of Audio FX is pretty
impressive and I would be sore if that is not available.
But that is the next challenge.

So long
