Is it possible to attache a marker to a clip so that when i move the clip the marker moves with it. I know that if i do it within the clip it will stick but how about if i do it on the main timeline?
I concentrated on what Patryk said: "I know that if i do it within the clip it will stick but how about if i do it on the main timeline?" so the Ripple Edit mode advice I offered still stands. Or are you making a separate pertinent point here? If so it is lost on me?
>> Ripple Edit and select the "Markers" option from the drop-down menu.
All right - I am probably in for a tongue lashing here....
How do you effect a ripple edit and select "Marker's option". I have been trying to find those commands - the help using "ripple edit" does not help me, nor does clicking or right clicking on what seems like obvious menu choices. Keystroke wise, how do effect the ripple edit and select markers ?
"Post edit ripple" is the term to search help on.
Shortcut keys are:
F - Affected Tracks;
Ctrl+F - Affected Tracks, Bus Tracks, Markers, and Regions;
Ctrl+Shift+F - All Tracks, Markers, and Regions.
Cheemie - That's NO excuse at all! ( What did he say - I've forgotten . . ?)
Mike - I stand corrected.
Peter - I like that I like that a lot! Now, all I need to do is remember just WHAT CSP buttons I've assigned to what! Seriously, a CSP or KB key for switching OFF "Post edit ripple" would be a great saving in blood pressure.
PER can drive me nuts at times, especially when it comes to markers. The ones that I've placed between events as chapter markers move when they shouldn't with PER on.
One thing I just discovered was I can get Vegas to display Media Marker's text in the event, now I'm cooking. How did I miss this for all these years and why didn't anyone tell me, I thought at least some of you were telepathic :)
I had no idea you could put markers in files in the Trimmer! I often import lots of timeline markers (via tab-delineated text) by pasting into the Edit Details table, but this doesn't work in the Trimmer. Does anyone have a way to do this?
The info for the markers in a clip that is in the trimmer is found in the *.sfl file, This is located in the same place the media is located, if that is any help...
makes sure you press the save button in the trimmer window to make a file
