Problem: 23:00 minute project can't be rendered as default MPEG1 via
Vegas 5.

Workflow:

1) on PRemiere Pro/Matrox RT X100 render clip as Matrox X100 AVI on USB drive. Unplug drive from PC using proper disconnect procedure
2) plug USB drive into another true Pentium 4 2.8 with 2 gigs RAM.PC, USB 2 port.
3) Matrox codec adapter was installed a while ago. Open file in V5; plays fine to NTSC monitor
4) add Timecode Plugin and try to render to MPEG1 default. Locks up at 7%
5) render to New Track to ensure it is not the Matrox codec adapter
6) render New Track to MPEG1 default. Locks up at 7%
7) pound fist on desk becasue it is almost midnight and I have to get up at 4:45 AM to go to work.
8) open New Track1 in V4, render with no problems.

What is going on?
