Audigy/Vegas solution found?

Not sure how many Audigy Video 2ZS users are out there but I'm sure I've identified a fix for the Audigy/Vegas popping and hissing problem.

I installed the drivers found at (asio4all.com). It has allowed me to use the Audigy VE successfully in Vegas. Only thing I found was that the buffer needs to be reduced (mine is at 0) to remove latency.

If anyone else has similar problems and/or finds that this works, I'd be keen to know about it...

never knew there wa a problem...

as for latency, with any asio device, best to run at or below 20ms
Either way, Vegas SHOULDNT run into any latency issues irrespective of your buffer

My curiosity is piqued.

I recently purchased the VE for the capture abilities after successfully running nVidia ASIO drivers (onboard ALC850) in Vegas for sometime building 5.1 projects.

The Creative ASIO drivers simply did not work and caused all kinds of crackling, popping and hissing. It was totally unworkable. Was able to work via MS sound mapper only.

I trolled around the net and found heaps with similar problems. The general consenus seemed to be avoid Creative and Vegas.

I've been left wondering if the Creative ASIO drivers have a higher CPU drain (AMD 3500) as the nVidia ASIO worked AOK. A new system ordered may be able to answer that question I'm sure.

Are you using the VE with the Creative ASIO drivers, if so, any problems? It would seem that you don't have.

BTW - the buffer I refer to is the HW buffer available via the new ASIO drvs I mentioned in my original post.
