audio and video don't sync

I just rendered a 1/2 hour of video, and when I played it back the audio was out of sync by a second or two.
I rendered first as mpeg2 and then tried avi, and it was the same thing both times.
Any suggestions?

is it out of sync on the timeline? Check that.

no. I dragged it in and faded the begining and end and then hit render, and the output is out of sync

Try rendering a small portion (a minute or so). Then put it on CDand take it to another computer. It may be that there's a glitch with a sound driver if both the AVI & mpeg do it. Do other videos (ie ones downloaded from net) work?
