Audio Bars on the video

BabyFox wrote on 1/12/2017, 12:11 AM

At about 0:23 you can see the audio bar raise and stay there, how would I make something like that? Is it possible to make something like that in Sony Vegas and if not what software would help me make that and what wording should I google for a tutorial? the best I could find is tutorials on audio waves for music but thats not really what I am looking for. Thank you in advance

HitFilm can do this.

Well, if I was to look up a tutorial on doing something like this what would type to search?

Try looking for "hitfilm atomic particles audio level".

Maybe in your case a simpler method would serve, too. You could also fake this fx by using a static grafic file showing an audio meter while using a wipe transition (or Cookie Cutter/Mask) to animate.

This would be quite easy to do in Vegas.

- Have a clean audio recording of the audio you want metered. then screen capture the meter levels.

- Make a screen capture of the meters and add it above the main video track

- Create a mask zoomed in outlining the meters.

- Freeze the last frame of the meter when it hits it's peak.

BabyFox,

Here's a quick tutorial how it "could" be done in Vegas...

As others have recommended you'll get much more professional results if you do it the way they have suggested though.
