Audio Bus Rendering Bug!

Sonic Foundry,

WHEN will this bug be fixed? I have made the foolish
mistake of converting my Vegas Pro projects to Vegas Audio
at a time when the final mixes are due in a matter of weeks!

Hundreds of hours have been spent using Audio since the
conversion, and modifications have been made that would be
nigh-on impossible to recreate in Vegas Pro in the given
timeframe, if it were possible to even track the changes.

You wrote code to import .vegs from Pro to Audio/Video, so
surely you could at least release a utility to convert
files back to the Pro format so that Audio/Video users
aren't crippled? Even if all video functionality was lost,
I doubt people would complain. After all, Vegas Pro users
predominantly bought the package for multitrack recording,
not video editing!

Does the 2.0b beta fix the issues? It mentions nothing of
the kind in the information about the release. What are we
meant to do in the meantime? Twiddle our thumbs and hope
you may one day at least tell us when it will be fixed?
For god's sake at least keep us informed!

I shudder to think how many projects this has halted. I am
personally losing money from contracts over this - what do
I tell my clients? 'Take it up with Sonic Foundry. I'll do
a final mix for you when they are good and ready to fix the
problem.'

What about a workaround? A utility? Some advice at least!!

From a company that has developed such brilliant products
and progressed leaps and bounds ahead of the competition
over the years, this is well below par. Hopefully you will
rectify this situation before your customers stop believing
you are the brilliant audio software development company
you once were and can be again.

Peter tells me that he thinks this bug has been fixed, but he's
checking into it to make sure.

Well, I downloaded the Pre-release of Vegas Audio 2.0b last night and
tried it out this morning. Vegas happily rendered three different
projects to .wav correctly, to my delight.

I suggest all who are currently hindered by the .wav rendering issue
download the 2.0b pre-release, it's definately worth it for that fix
alone. It seems (not that I have given it a good thrashing yet) to be
at least as stable as 2.0a.

I have been hanging out for the resolve of this rendering problem, it
makes Vegas useless. I have the update and so far it renders
correctly. But man you got to have software that is predictable,
knowing it is doing something that you expect it to. I spend a lot of
time double checking all my actions in case I find another serious
problem ruining my work....
