Audio capabilities of "Video" (vs "Audio")

I use Vegas Audio 2 for making and editing wavs (which I rip to mp3s for my ipod w/RazorLame). I need to get video editing software and have an opportunity to get a great deal on Vegas Video + DVD (v4). Anyway I was just wondering... is Vegas Audio obsolete if you have Vegas Video (i.e. does Video do everything Audio can do and more?) Thanks

Yes.

Vegas Video does everything except things like music notation, vstis and rewire. If it did that I'd probably use it for music projects as well!

I went from audio editing to video editing. Final Cut Pro was a whole new concept. Vegas just extended what I already did with audio into the video realm. It was a very natural progression.

Vegas "Video" (the word "Video" was dropped with version 3) *is* Vegas Audio, just with the Audio dropped from the name. When there were in fact, two different products, they weren't different at all, except video was turned off in the audio product.
Make the jump. YOu'll be thrilled you did.
