Audio Clicking

I'm fairly new at this and was wondering about some clicking that happens in my movie. I edited the movie and burned it to DVD. When I play it in my DVD player on my TV and computer, I hear a clicking noise in the audio. It's very annoying. It's ususally when the pitch is too loud. Is there anything I can do about this? Or is this just a problem from when I recorded the movie? I changed the audio on my camcorder from 12 bit to 16 bit for future recordings.

Changing the audio for future recordings will give better sound, but I'm not sure it will fix any clicking. Is the clicking on the original tape? If so, it could be the microphone picking up the tape motor. If not, it could just be your DVD player. Not all players can handle DVD-R or RW. Try playing it on another player, or on your computer to see if the clicking is still there.

I have had a problem using an external (wireless) microphone...the resulting audio is full of clicks just as you describe. Not that this is your problem, but it might be something related to your recording process.
