Audio clip detection possible ?

Would it be possible to have a script detect clipping in the audio and place markers along the timeline where it clips ?

That would be a useful tool if the scripting language could permit it.

Scripting cannot "see" audio levels just like it can't "see" the video image.

Probably not a good idea to process raw audio/video data with managed code.
