You can adjust the gain of an 'event' by dragging the top of the event's data downward. You should see a blue indicator line.. unless the deep thinkers at Magix changed it recently like they did to the icons (because they was too easy see). This affects the volume of the entire event, If you want varying levels, the easiest way is to insert a Track envelope with the keyboard "V" key. Add points and drag the points or envelope line between the points
Thank you for your response that was quick!! I was doing those things already and was hoping for a solution that one could "key in" levels at clip level not having the key line across the whole track. It seems i was able to do that before in previous versions. I know in Premier you can and in Magics DAW software you can. Your right though at clip level you cant "ramp" audio, you can only bring it all up or all down. Thanks again!! Sorry for the all Caps for the question

You can insert fades (and/or x-fades) at the event's head/tail.
If you have Sound Forge, you could choose "Open in (or open copy) in audio editor" and make changes there with 'Graphic fade' or other amplitude fools.

Vegas does not have event level volume envelope capability. However, at the track level, if you move the event, the track volume envelope moves with the event as far as I know.

Yes, this is true.. however, it can be disabled as well, so the envelopes do not change if the event is moved or removed altogether. "Options> Lock envelops to events". An 'Envelope edit tool' is available as well, if one wishes to copy/paste or drag a sequence of envelope points,
FYI, one of my favorite tips: highlight a section you wish to boost or cut the volume, drag the volume envelope line up or down, envelope points will be inserted automatically. This works with other automation envelopes beside volume as well. A real time saver for automatons.
