Audio controls in Vegas 5- Something's working weird

I've gotten used to using the volume up/down and mute on my keyboard in Vegas 4 to control the output to my speaks. Very handy when you're making drastic volume changes and don't want to destroy your speakers. But in Vegas 5 these keyboard controls change the track properties by default. This has already caused a mess. The only way I can find to make the keyboard controls affect the output to speakers is to click on the speaker icon each time on my tool bar.
Is there a way to make Vegas 5 behave more like Vegas 4 with respect to keyboard audio controls? Thanks for any help!

I'm using a mixer to control master room output, but first thought would be to ask how you've got Vegas master outputs assigned in your audio prefs?

I don't think I really understand. I'm looked around in preferences under audio and audio device and the only thing I see like that is Microsoft Sound Mapper. Doubt that what you mean.
I've been messing with the keyboard preferences, but I don't see anything to assign things to their old function. Deleting them doesn't seem to work either.
Any thoughts? These new functions are really slowing down my workflow, so I appreciate any help.

Just did a check and Sound Forge does still use the keyboard volume controls and mute the same way that Vegas 4 does.
Can someone please help me make Vegas 5 work like that?

I am having the same problem... I used the volume control on my keyboard to control the volume, but now in V5, it adjusts the track volume level of the selected track. Any info on this would be great.

Tell me about it. I'm very puzzled why they added this shortcut. It just causes all kinds of confusion and messes. I rarely adjust track volume, most of that work is done in Sound Forge or routed to a Vegas bus. But I adjust volume to my speakers and mute it all the time.
Someone please help us!!!!

Yep having the same problem
Wish there was a way to turn that feature off - very disceiving
I thought I was just turning my volume on my speakers up.
Rendered my project to find the volumes were all over the place up/down on certain tracks.

Me not like:(

I'm sorry that you're having a problem with this as well, but hopefully Sony will take note of us and either tell us how to change things back or will come up with an option to do so on a future version.
I still don't see why they changed this.
