Audio cutting in and out

I thought I was done with my wedding season so I took the opportunity to upgrade from VP14 to 15. I currently have both on my computer. I also recently installed Film Convert plug-in.

This week I got a request to make a Blu Ray disc from a wedding finished earlier this year. When I opened in Vegas 14 and played it from the timeline, all the audio that came from Zoom portable audio recorders is now messed up. It cuts in and out. Some clips cut in and out and also have short bursts of static. I rendered a short part of the timeline and posted here -> https://vimeo.com/246259048

When I open the wav files independently of Vegas, they play fine.

Could upgrading to VP15 somehow caused the audio files to play incorrectly?

Any ideas?

I had some audio issues in the past when audio files were on a USB drive, no idea if this is your issue, but if on a USB HD, maybe try moving audio file(s) to internal HD?

I did have it stored on a USB III drive but after the problem, I moved to my internal edit drive and still have the problem. It works ok if I bring in the audio again as if it was new audio but now I'd have a bunch of time finding the exact places in the audio and syncing, etc. Issues like this and crashing make me wonder if it's time to move to something else.

Do the files PB ok in Sound Forge? if so, try 'open a copy is Sound Forge' which creates a new take. Or maybe just a 'save-as' with new file names and replace the problem audio events.

Have you tried using REPLACE instead of bringing in as new files?

@Former user and @rraud - you guys are genius! I opened in Audacity. Saved as a new wav file with different name, and REPLACED in Vegas. Worked!!
