Upon opening Vegas an error message appears..."The audio input is not activated. Recording audio is impossible. Please click on the ASIO Control Panel button in the System (VST) or Device Setup (Nuendo) dialog. Make sure device name is selected in the Input Ports section and activate the corresponding check box in the first column." ... When I attempt to capture video the audio is distorted.. i know it not my sound card cuz i can listen to other stuff fine.... please help i have an important project due soon!

I finally got it to work, but i still have one problem i thought was associated with it... whenever i capture video on Vegas or Adobot Premiere the audio is distorted. But if i capture with windows movie maker, it sounds fine! Anyone have an idea of what is wrong?

What are you trying to do exactly?

ASIO drivers shouldn't enter into it, period!

The ONLY way to capture A/V into Vegas is via firewire. When you do that VidCap makes an exact copy of both the video and audio from the tape to an .avi file.

I suspect you are trying to record audio by arming a track or something like that which is not the way to be going about it.
