audio driver conflicts

I am syncing up Vegas to Acid using the Virtual Midi Router. When one program tries to run while the other is running it freezes. I get a message telling me that the other program is using the same audio driver.

long story short: i would appreciate any help that would allow me to use Acid only as a midi sequencing program (disabling all audio features and drivers) that i can sync up to Vegas via the VMR.

Sorry, you can't. ACID is just not meant to be a stand alone sequencer. I relys on having at least one audio port available. (If there are no audio ports installed on a system, it actually creates a dumby port.) Vegas is the same way.

You will have to either use the mapper with a WDM base driver for your hardware or get an audio card that has multiple outputs that can be used at the same time by different apps.
