I am the first to admit I am a newbie at this. Not PC's in general, but on a/v editing. Anyway, the problem is this. Trying to record video from my analog device (8mm Sharp camcorder) and as soon as I open the preview window to capture, all of my audio output to speakers/headphones is experiencing a horrible echo. It definitely sounds like feedback to me, but it never reaches the squelching point. I am running a P4 1.6 with Geforce 4 ti 4400. 528M DDR2100, Soundblaster Audigy Gamer (which is where I am plugging into the analog line in) and my capture card is an ATI Wonder VE. Yeah, on some stuff I am cheap, but this is just to burn home movies to CD. The video looks great, but again, as soon as I hit preview to capture, I get a horrible reverb/echo effect. Any suggestions anyone has would be greatly appreciated. By the way, ALL AUDIO OUTPUT gets the effect as long as the preview window is running (even system sounds.) When I shut the preview down, everything goes back to normal. I have checked to make sure none of the canned sound effect schemes are running and they are not. Thanks for your help and expertise.
