Movie Studio 12 , 13 . In the preferences you are able to select Preferred Editor. I selected Sound Forge Audio Studio (which came with the studio suite). I am editing video from a Sony camera (AVCHD) and when I select edit in audio editor I get a Not supported format. My question what audio editor will edit the Sony camera format?

Vegas Movie Studio will edit it just fine! It's quite likely that you can accomplish pretty much everything you want to right in Movie Studio without using any other audio editor.

What you need to do though if you want to use Sound Forge is to "edit copy in audio editor". This will cause Movie Studio to create a .wav file of the audio and send that .wave to Sound Forge. When you're done editing, the newly edited .wav file will be added to your video project as a "take", replacing your original unedited audio on the timeline.

The advantages are that you never destroy your original audio so it's always there safe, and, "open copy" will be extremely faster than trying to edit the original audio.
