audio export from avid dv express

I have a project at present using all 8 audio tracks on an Avid express DV 3.5.
I want to do all of my audio work on a VV5 system and motu FW 828 MK2.
Can anyone give ideas on how to export the video and capture back into vv and then get all 8 tracks from the AVID and get them into VV5, all in sync and then get them back into the AVID. I thought that if I put a BITC version of the final video with a stereo mixdown out of the AVID and then capture to VV, this will give me a picture with guide sound. If I then put 10 secs of tone blips at the front of each audio track and export from the avid this would give me a way to sync the audio. I can then line them up by ear and eye. Any other way s of doing this process would be very gratefully received. What would be great if there was any way of getting an OMF export from the AVID and then importing it into VV5, is this possible? I think not but maybe someone knows different. Looking for ward to replys..Cheers for now.

There is a program that will read Avid OMF files and convert them to a Vegas file and vice versa. But it is quite expensive (in the thousand dollar range).

I think the easiest would be to export each track as a WAV file. If you export the whole track, you don't need to worry about lining them up. Just bring each wav file in the project and start them at the same point on the time line.

Rendering out tracks to file is the fast and easy way, but you should at least take a look at EDL Convert Pro ($250, there's also a free timeout demo):
