Audio fadeout

Great Forum folks,
I've been browsing the site for weeks.
My first project is a collection of avi files at a wedding.
I'm trying to finish a 3 min introduction with video/slides/transitions and FX media. All (how to) derived from this forum, thank you again.
Problem, I'm out of video clips and the music track is longer then the avi files.
I want to control the audio track to fadeout or fade away in volume. How is that possible.

put the cursor at the end of your film, select the audio event and hit 's' (=split) You can then delete the rest of the music.
For fading sound, it is the same as fading video: go to the right hand edge of the event, wait til the fade icon appears and then drag to the left for the desired amount of time.

ekez,

Since you're new to this, check out older tutorials such as this Vegas 5 tutorial link. It covers mixing/splitting etc. Very helpful when I started because it shows you graphically how to do it.

Thanks for the reponse folks. It actually makes sense.
The tool s that apply to the Video tracks also apply to the Audio track.
What a concept!

Thanks again.
