audio gaps

Greetings,

I am getting tiny audio gaps.........as small as you can get, .01 seconds. I estimate that I am getting 10 of these gaps spread out over every 10 minutes. Even at that tiny gap, the audio snapping noise is very annoying. The gaps are not on my original as these gaps occur in different spots when I try to redo the capture. The main question would be how to eliminate the gaps, and the second question, if I can't eliminate them, is there a way to fill them in without going through and manually fixing each one?

I have tried to shut down all other programs while capturing.........

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Ken

No takers out there? How about Sonic Dennis? Are you still tuned in?

Thanks,

It's happening with my VV3 program, so I don't mind asking here. Thanks anyway.

I'm simply suggesting that forum may have a BETTER answer since they are more obsessive about audio issues. Oh my God, .01 seconds off? How do you sleep at night? <wink>

There is a Vegas AUDIO forum you know. :-)

Well, I'm no audio guru, but here's a couple of thoughts...

Have you disconnected any network connections, usb devices too? That may help.

How are you capturing? 1394 & Vegas capture?

Do you hear the pops in windows media player?

Yes, I am capturing with the Firewire and the Vegas capture........I do knock off all non-esential programs and Antivirus, etc., and defragment. I can hear it in the Windows Media Player.

You'd be surprised(maybe not!)how noticeable a .01 second gap is....especially with music.....It is pretty annoying when you get multiple gaps during a program. Right now, I search for the gaps and then copy the previous .01 seconds and paste in the gap......it works to fix the gap, but it is labor intensive. I was kind of hoping, if there is no way to fix the originating problem, that one of the audio plugins may smooth out the gaps.

I'll look at the audio discussion, but figure it may be a combo problem.

Thanks for listening,

Ken
